breast-caner-board

It’s October…time to “think pink!”

Well, I like to hope we think pink all year, and teal…and yellow…whatever our cause may be (and there are so many), but thinking pink is near and dear to me right now.

One of my nearest and dearest friends has a wonderful mom (as they usually are) who was diagnosed with breast cancer about three years ago. She had chemo…all was as well as it could be, but we found out a few weeks ago that the cancer is back and angry! Colleen is an amazing person. She is strong, brave…and extremely loving to everyone in her path. I know she’ll beat this again, and I hope she knows how many are standing behind her as she climbs up that hill one more time—especially a dapper one year old boy named Max (her grandson).

So..I am trying to put my mad skillz (ha ha) to good use! We are having “THINK PINK” mini sessions all day on Saturday, October 24th.

50 dollars to Susan G Komen and you get a free 8×10 and a set of wallets of your fave pose. That’s’ right—you donate your money to breast cancer awareness, and I will take a cute picture of your kiddo in pink, and give you those prints. That’s it! Of course you can order more…but you don’t have to!

So if you were thinking of donating, have fun and do it this way…and if it hadn’t crossed your mid yet, think it over, and schedule a session where you can give back, and get some cute pics of your darling girl (or boy).

Now, I geared this more towards gals because of the cause. Suzanne Williams of Paisley and Posies teamed up with me and donated various pink hued tutus, petti-skirts, beanies, and big ol’ flowers to really dress up and “pink up” our session together. And get this, if you BUY any PINK tutu from her etsy site she will donate the proceeds to Susan G. Komen as well—how cool is that!!?? You just can’t go wrong!

Check out my gal modeling all the goodies for you–and more! If you have a boy, and don’t want him rockin’ a tutu—which I understand— ;) just dress him in pink and show up! Easy peasey, right?

So let’s dress up fancy and have fun all for a great cause.

WHEN:
October 24th
9am-12pm
15 minutes a session
50 dollar donation
8×10 and set of 8 wallets
MAKE. A . DIFFERENCE.
Let’s fight cancer…with cuteness!!

{Let the Games Begin} Raven’s Pre-Season Starts Tomorrow!

Posted on August 12, 2009

So we headed over to training camp, as we always do!

Daddy has to get his autographs!
Mommy has to get her pictures.

As you can see, my daughter is in all her glory these days. She’s PERFECT for photographing (and I won’t lie—she’s perfect for a little bribery too). My son—well, he is a another story. He is the most adorable little guy, so of course I want to just snap-snap away, but he resists. He wants to play, he wants to “go go go” and sitting down for a picture is virtually out of the question (as you can see as you scroll down). Seeing his face in a picture is a miracle, and he’s usually zoning out on something, but I will take it!!

It wasn’t an easy feat manning two kids 3 and under alone while attempting to get that perfect picture (Daddy was autograph hunting for a good hour), but I captured the day—I captured them—and that, as you know, is always my goal!

If you know our family, you know we are HUGE Raven’s fans—so here’s to our guys and a great season!

GO RAVENS!!

{My Baby’s First Haircut} Harford County, Maryland Event Photographer

Posted on July 26, 2009

Okay so if you know me, you know my daughter’s hair. Heck, even if you don’t **know** me, you know her hair from this blog. She is turning 3 on Tuesday, and she has had ONE, yes ONE haircut in her life! (and honestly, it’s so curly, you couldn’t even tell).

Well, I was expecting this, but with boys…it’s totally different. You have to cut it. I mean, you don’t want to (or at least I didn’t), but you kind of have to. I was dragging my heels with this, telling myself my little guy had the “summer surfer style,” but finally my husband basically forced “the big haircut” on me this past weekend.

I am so glad he did! When I share some of darling daughter’s birthday pics, my son looks so grown up and handsome!

Anyway, I dragged my camera to the salon, and I am so glad that I did. I love these pictures, and they really captured the experience perfectly.

It made me think that other mom’s out there that may want these special moments captured too–so if you need me for an “event” such as this–give me a holler!

Enjoy…..

{My Beautiful Birthday Boy} Harford County Maryland Baby Portrait Photographer

My big boy is one! He had a wonderful weekend and a great celebration today. I hope that you enjoy some of these shots from the party. His big sister had fun sharing in his big day and gave him some appropriate snuggles before we got started.

This year really went by fast…I have such mixed emotions. I can’t believe he’s one!!

Happy birthday sweet boy…we love you so much!

***and on another note, more photography related***
I am definitely up for snapping some shots at YOUR next celebration. Avoid the hassle of trying to take pictures AND enjoy the fun (it’s so hard–I was there today). Email me and we’ll talk!!
