I met this mom and her three year old son at my Tiny Toes in store sessions back in March.
When she contacted me to do some extended family portraits of her family and brothers….I couldn’t resist another session with her little sweetie!
I must say, six adults and one toddler…I was out of my element for certain. No rubber chickens, tickle gloves, or bribery of yummy candy afterward for these guys (well, maybe a little Bonefish Grill Bribery). It was a beautiful night and a gogeous family. What more could you ask for?
Thanks little N for being my “helper.” You definitley got everyone to smile with your “Toy Story” lingo encouragement!
Enjoy the sneak peek!
Oh, and if we can wrangle 15 comments on this blog post–you guys are gifted a free 5×7 print!

It happened again! I had another one of my newborns from last summer–she’s now 15 months and just adorable!
Miss H arrived bright and early for her photo session, along with her wonderful parents. I just love her little hair style–short and sassy–just like her. We spent the morning exploring the park in the lovely freshly cut dewy grass. It was a little overcast, but not too hot yet, which is always a good thing.
Her session is looking so cute. The family shots really make me smile, especially the one where her parents are lovingly kissing her cheeks. Just look at her little fingers wrapped around Daddy’s (hey isn’t that supposed to be the other way around?). :) My other favorite shot is the one where she’s standing up on the picnic table in her pink dress. Literally, she had just gotten dressed, Mommy arranged her barrette just so, and I was really loving the light. I politley asked Dad to step out of the frame, she smiled at me, and viola! Sometimes I get lucky and it happens just.like.that.
Thanks so much for yesterday! I feel blessed and honored to capture these little people as they grow and change over the years. It makes my heart happy. Enjoy….
(yeah yeah–I know you know–but new readers might not so)—15 blog comments gets this super fam a free 5×7 print! Lend a hand if you please!

…and just a look back at what a difference a year can make!
WOW!

and I really mean that…because this little dude could truck!!
This is Emerick, the sweet son of a local photographer, and now friend of mine, Anni Matusky of Anni Oh Photography.
Being friends in the same biz, we pretty much end up talking “shop” a lot, and when she expressed her frustration on trying to be both Emerick’s wonderful mom AND his personal photographer — I so felt her pain…especially with a two year old boy–seen any great pics of Jackson lately? It’s SUCH a hard age.
When she asked for my help–I of course said yes, and requested a swap! Yes, you heard me right people…I am finally going to get pictures of my family taken, and you better believe I will share them here.
Next month hopefully!
So anyway, Anni wasn’t lying. Emerick is fast, has his own agenda, and wants to get busy with it–quick!! What was presented to me as a dapper, pulled together, adorable gap toddler model quickly became an airplane lovin’, hot, sweaty red faced mess–but still adorable mind you. So very cute–and soooo two—and SUCH a little boy!
I love the captures of him …and I hope you do too Anni! So looking forward to our session with you!
Emerick…keep truckin’ to two. What it it….2 more months??
And don’t kill me…I really like this picture of your sweet family of three!! Can’t wait to have some of our foursome!

Another wonderful family that I got to spend the evening with! They made a bit of a drive to see me, and I am hopeful this blog sneak will ensure that it was worth their while!
Little sis is 9 months old, and big sis is newly 4 (which she assures I can tell my daughter is “the best age”). It’s funny, at many sessions parents will have seen something on the site or blog that they love, and are hopeful can be recreated at their session with me. Last night, mom loved the picture I took last fall of a big sis and little sis reading on a blanket in their tutus. It’s rare that one of my littlest clients has a request from the website–but Miss H even had one all of her own. She wanted a picture of her daddy tossing her up in the air. I , of course, obliged…but really–being 4– that was a tougher job for Daddy!
Actually…even 9 month old Miss C decided to get in on the requests…I just wanted to put her in this old fruit crate in a beautifully lit spot, and she wouldn’t let go of the parasol—viola! An instant even cuter shot, so thanks girls!
H toted her scooter along for some shots…which I just adore. I LOVE adding something new and different to my portfolio, and I love reflecting who my little clients REALLY are even more.
I had a blast P fam!! Thanks again, so great meeting you all!
…and if you read all this, please leave these sweet people some blog love so they can get their gift print!! ![]()
THANKS!!

{Rain, Rain…go away!} Harford, MD Custom Child Portrait Photographer
Posted on July 12, 2010
Okay so maybe I shouldnt say that, as we had a HUGE draught these past few weeks, and we SO need the rain!
This is the most adorable family with the nicest kids.
Mom called about an hour before our session tonight and we both “hemmed and hawed” over whether or not to cancel. It was raining and cloudy…and then she disclosed she was in the car already 20 minutes into their 45 minute drive to me! With that, I hopped in my car, windshield wipers pumping, PRAYING for a break in this storm! Just an hour…pretty please?
Well, okay so it didn’t happen RIGHT away, we got there, got out of the cars…got that first shot below (yes, that was just the 2nd shot I took!), and the rain came pourin’ down. We took shelter…took some “undercover” pics……and low and behold–we had sun!
(THANK YOU!!)
But really–great group of kiddos and a fun night.
My favorite shot is the black and white of the four kids. We had SUCH a crazy time getting baby sis to get interested in the shoot–as you can see “Miss Lindsay” was really hamming it up acting like a total crazy person, and everyone ELSE appreciated my dorky humor–except the baby. It’s a great shot– I just love the older kids faces like “is this woman for REAL???” (and yes, I am).
Thanks B fam….so happy it all worked out–and Dad–heal quick (tore his ACL–ouch).
Lovin’ your pics!
PS–Spread the love and comment for this gorgeous family–they need a free 5×7! All it takes is 15!
