Lindsay Parks Photography » welcome

Harvest is defined as the act of growing a crop. Isn’t that somewhat like raising a family?

This family is very near and dear to my hearts as well. I have photographed them several times and I can always count on a fun session….lots of hugs and cuddles, and…well, a good reflection of the successful “harvest.”

Enjoy!!

I have been photographing this sweet family since before their adorable youngest boy was even born. Over these years, I truly feel I have gotten to know them as people, and they really don’t come any nicer. These two parents embody the spirit of embracing the craziness of having two youngsters, and really loving every minute of it. Lots and lots of love here….the photos can’t lie. xo

Just popping in to say hi and to explain my absence! ‘Tis the season of ‘crazy busy’…we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel, my Stella & Dot business is full swing and I’m trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy for my family! Linds is just as busy too – holiday cards, editing Fall sessions, shooting newborns, etc. etc. We were just on the phone venting the other day and one-upping each other with our ‘crazy busy’ lives. And, by the way, have you noticed how this term has become a badge of honor?! I’m definitely guilty – it almost seems like there’s some sort of unspoken competition about who is the busiest – and that the busier we are, the more value our days have. It’s twisted, right?! So can we call a truce right now? Can we agree that busy is NOT better – in fact, it’s harried, frantic and unsettling? I’m longing for the days of cozy pjs, warm fires and cuddles with kiddos…and I can guarantee you that by mid-December, THAT’S what I’ll be doing!

But – my life IS busy right now, so I’m trying to embrace it and enjoy every moment. I’m thankful that it’s filled with things I love, and one of those is the connection I’ve found to the Bel Air community – in part due to all of you! We’ve called three states home before settling here in Maryland, but none have really felt like home until we moved here. A place is only as good as the people you know in it, and I know some pretty fantastic people! So among the many blessings I’m counting this Thanksgiving, one is that I get to call Bel Air home and am able to raise our girls in such a warm, friendly, and accepting place. So if you live here – thank YOU! 🙂

We are prepping for a holiday-themed blog post coming in December, so stay tuned! Until then, I have a great little shopping hot spot for you to check out – with some fabulous jewelry, if I do say so myself! (Prepare for the shameless plug) I’m holding my semi-annual Stella & Dot Sample Sale on Thursday, December 6th from 6-9pm at the Spenceola Clubhouse in Forest Hill. I’ll be selling off all discontinued pieces at 50% off as cash and carry, and the entire Holiday line will be available to shop. All pieces will arrive in plenty of time for the holidays and come packaged adorably to be gift-ready. I’ll also have some fun goodies on hand – giveaways, a five-minute face makeover and, of course, some sparkly drinks! It’s guaranteed to be the most stress-free shopping experience you’ll have all season – it’ll beat the mall any day, I promise. Please swing by if you can – and if you do, tell me you’re a Mama’s Ticket to the Town reader and you’ll get 10% off! You can preview the line (or even shop directly) here

Have a Happy and Blessed Holiday!

Well, first off, I apologize for the bad blogging. I actually love blogging and showcasing favorite sessions, I just always seem to be juggling many different activities and jobs these days, and the hat of “blogger” kind of fell off–but it’s back. Yes, I am definitely knee deep (okay, okay–NECK deep) in holiday sessions, editing, ordering, packaging….but it’s nice to take a breath and revisit some summer sessions I adored.

This one was a favorite before I even downloaded the pictures. A mama and her babies….what’s better? Well, a mama and her babies in the soft green grass at sunset. I just love it, and it’s a nice flashback now that the grey and duller days of winter are soon upon us. Enjoy…..
