Lindsay Parks Photography » welcome

Picking out your baby’s name is a pretty big deal. I mean…it’s forever. Some keep it a secret the entire pregnancy…while others immediately refer to the mom to be’s belly as said chosen name. Some of us find out the gender at the “big” ultrasound and only have to pick one name, yet a few still leave it as a “suprise” birth and have to choose two names to be prepared. That was my husband and I. We immediately picked and agreed on Marlie and Jackson. Marlie is a nice meshing of my mom and Jason’s mother’s names (Mary and Leslie). Jackson is a mix of both our dad’s (Jack and John) and Jason’s name too. We loved both the names, used Marlie’s first, and then got to use Jackson too! We had another girl name on deck the second time though. πŸ˜‰

When this adorable baby boy’s mother and I were chatting about when to schedule his session days after he was born, she mentioned a hope the couple had to have their newborn son photographed in a rocking chair that belonged to his great grandfather (the dad’s mother’s father), Jack. This was also his namesake.

I knew we would have to make it happen, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out. The antique rocker was just gorgeous with a stunning namplate garnishing the top. The nameplate has both baby Jack and great grandfather Jack’s birthyears and initials engraved on it. Lovely…

Jack was a trooper throughout his session, and adorable to boot. Congrats Erin and Mark on your beautiful new family!

Every girl needs “diva” time (actually she looks more like a flower child here)…especially on a rare almost 70 degree day in February. Just my beautiful, little model…I feel so blessed to be her Mama and love her like crazy everyday. There’s a lot to love in her.
Enjoy!

I cannot believe my dear sweet nephew is one! His Mama and I had BIG plans for this photoshoot. We had props, we had outfit changes, birthday crowns, and balloons. Not to mention, the day we chose, Friday, was supposed to be 70 degrees. How could this go wrong!? Here’s how: my niece got that nasty stomach bug going around. Blech.

So, we met up yesterday instead. Not QUITE as warm, and Mason–well, he had other plans for us. You know one year olds, they kind of rule the roost. These plans of Mason’s included, snuggling Mommy, and snuggling Mommy–did I mention Mason loves his Mommy? πŸ˜‰

The first shot pretty much sums up what happened whenever Mommy put him down (and SO not like Mason, we think maybe he was cold). We tried singing, dancing, sweet snacks, being sneaky…he was not having it! The last shot in this series is a “lucky” moment when he was distracted by a puppy walking by.

The point here is this: Mason was totally uncooperative for his Aunt Lindsay, but he is also completely adorable and lovable. Do you see those little teeth popping in? So, what does this mean? Well, I for one adore his pictures, ….and I love him!! Happy birthday Mason, and not to worry….Aunt Linds will have many, many more opportunities to snap ya!

As almost 4 year old big sis Ella was once heard saying, “WHY does Aunt Lindsay ALWAYS have to take my picture!?”

xoxox
Enjoy!!

First off let me start by saying how exciting it was to FINALLY get outside for a session. It was such a nice mild day in February, so mild that my little friend didn’t even need a coat. LOVE!! Even better news? The rest of this week is supposed to get even warmer. The plan is to have my sweet nephew’s one year photo shoot this week.

Speaking of sweetness and one year old boys, ummm…could this little guy get any cuter!? Well, maybe he could since I think he definitely got more adorable at each session I had with him this year. This is one of my one year baby planners, and the final one year session is always pretty emotional for everyonne. I photographed Sam when he was in his mama’s tummy, as a newborn, at 4 months, and again at 9 months. He has a wonderful family (2 furry big brothers), and I will just miss not seeing him every few months!

Enjoy your sneak peek into his one year session. What a big boy! I got blown kisses all night long…what’s not to love?

How great is this family shot to wrap up our time together? I love it!
