It’s always fun getting to know the expecting family before the newborn shoot–and what better way than a maternity shoot on a gorgeous summer–er–I mean spring (it REALLY felt like summer) evening!

…and that’s a magic number!

How CUTE is this sweet baby girl?
She’s 9 months and just adorable and sweet.

We met up last night at my favorite spot in order to capture this somewhat “new” family just as they are at this very moment. The thing was…we shortly discovered baby N was NOT a fan of sitting in the grass. It was one of the funniest things! 🙂 As soon as Mom or Dad plopped her down on any grassy spot, her little feet went up and her mouth turned down!

We had fun getting creative–dirt was okay…and there were plenty of spots that worked well…but it is so neat to see their little personalities and likes/dislikes develop. 🙂

This family exudes it!

This is the third time I have met up with them in the past year, and what an honor it has been for me. First it was to capture Mom pregnant with baby boy number 2, then it was to grab some shots of the gorgeous baby boy after he was born, and last night we focused on the special family of 4!

Sadly, this wonderful family is moving next month. 🙁 I am so sad to see them go! I am hopeful that perhaps they will come visit MD and perhaps pay me a visit too!

We had another beautiful night–finally! It’s been pretty rainy here of late. I think my favorite part of doing this is knowing what is happening when we got these pictures. There is a story in all of them. The oldest boy is almost 3 and just adores his parents. That last shot where he’s cracking up? It wasn’t me making him grin that wide….it was his Daddy being silly. I just love that (and Daddy has to love it too)! Same silly Daddy for the shot of the two boys together. Lucky me that he’s so funny!

I really adore all these shots, but I really love the one of Mommy and her two boys. Once again, probably because I am jealous–but just because it’s so calm and serene–most likely the opposite of everyday life!

And that she was…
This beautiful 10 day old baby girl came straight from her car seat and slept another good hour or so for me (after riding for almost an hour)! Amazing….
Then it was some feeding, rocking…and she was at it again!
Mom and Dad say for the most part…that is who she is (at least so far, right?) 😉

Don’t get me wrong, she was definitley NOT a huge fan of me poking and prodding her for poses (and who would be), but once she got readjusted and settles, it was more smooth sailing. Such a good girl…

Welcome to the world baby D! Mom and Dad, it was wonderful to meet you. Thank you for traveling, and congrats on your gorgeous girl!

What a fun family and another gorgeous spring evening!
I am in loooove with this location.

I had photographed little sis when she was three months old, and Mom scheduled this session to capture her big brother, the two of them together, as well as some family shots.

There are so many ranges of the “three year old.” For instance, my daughter would be incredibly shy with an on location photographer and clam up instantly….probably driving said photographer crazy. This I know, and I’d be okay with that. I love a serious picture of her. We’d make it work! 🙂

This guy was anything but, and I love that too! He was my BFF the instant I showed up and we had a blast. He was so adorable putting his little sis in the standard big brother “head lock hug.” So cute!

My fave shots of the night I think are the mommy and daughter shots, for two reasons. I love me a good Mommy/Child shot probably because I so desperately covet these for myself (and I will do it someday), but also because they are always so beautiful and special…no matter what is going on. I even found a new little “nook” of a spot that I can’t wait to sue again in the future.
