Lindsay Parks Photography » welcome

Sniff sniff…..my girl is in her last year of pre school!

Next year we’ll be boarding that big ol’ yellow bus, and I will be frantically searching for a glimpse of her little face in the window as she drives away.

Of course we are going to “rock” pre school well and celebrate with a “back to school” Marlie photo shoot! These were not done the morning of school. I’m not that organized, and my girl isn’t that pleasant first thing in the morning. I did these Monday night.

I can barely stomach how grown up and gorgeous she looks in this first picture. Wow. Her hair, her face….all of it. Every day I see a little more “toddler” disappear, and a beautiful little girl is slowly emerging. Her loves; writing in her notebook (Harriet the Spy style), puppies, puppies, and….did I mention puppies?

There were sooo many great shots of her in this series. I wish I could have blogged them all, but that would make me one crazy, insane mama. Maybe later…when business is slow.

Her shirt is from none other than Tiny Toes. I went in to chat with Karen about our next in store sessions and I could not leave without one. Isn’t it adorable!? She wore it today for her first day. :). They also have “Kindergarten Rocks” T-shirts. You better believe Marlie will be wearing that next year! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Good luck all you kiddos, and moms and dads out there! Have a fabulous school year!!
We can’t wait. Pre school ROCKS!!
Enjoy my little one….

This next series was all her idea. She said, “Mommy, let’s pretend my Puppy is licking me!” It was so adorable…

If you are a facebook fan, then you know how excited I am over this session. Of course, I love all my sessions, especially my itty bitty newborns, but I get giddy over trying something totally new.

This mom and dad had the creative idea of getting some shots of their new baby boy on the pool table downstairs. We put our heads together, …mom dug up a “pool ball” fleece scarf that her neice made her, dad got the balls all qued up (right?), and I got to work on my end of the best angle and best light. Viola! I love it. It is such a cool experience being able to create something that is special just to the client (ie–custom photography!).

I got that “giddy” feeling double today. Baby B’s room was just adorable…and more importantly so special and meaningful. One of his grandmothers painted a big brown tree in his room on one wall. For the leaves of the tree, she actually had the guests at the baby shower write messages on these paper leaves, and then placed them on the tree in his room. It was so beautiful! (check it out in the collage below the pool table shot)

B is totally cute and just precious. He was sleepy and content for the entire session (after all, his room was a sauna!), and it was fun chatting with mom and dad while we made these special photographic memories! Thanks again, it was great meeting you…and hi “Uncle Steve!”

If you made it this far, please show some blog love and commnent on this post. 15 comments gets B and his family a free 5×7 print–I love when that happens! THANKS! ๐Ÿ™‚

What a gorgeous evening!

I won’t lie–in the begining, my clients and I were scrambling! There was a wedding where we had intended to have our session, but with a night like this, and outfits like the ones these gals showed up in (THANK YOU!!)…how could the session NOT be a beautiful one?

I was telling Mom, Dad, and Grandmom about how sometimes when you are forced away from something that is so comfortable (said location where wedding was occuring), wonderful things happen! I love the light we found!

These two were just adorable sisters. Their personalities resonate loud and clear in the pictures…big sis being the lovely, “mature” and aware one in the pair, and little sis just cute, full of spark and lots of energy. How simply gorgeous is the shot of them hugging in the woods? I think it might be a new favorite of mine. The colors, the pose, the girls…I love it all!

Thanks for a wonderful evening…it was fun to “make the best” of what we had and turn into something great!
Enjoy the sneak,….and don’t forget…15 comments on this blog post gets the family a FREE 5×7 print.

Never hurts to share the love!

I met this mom and her three year old son at my Tiny Toes in store sessions back in March.

When she contacted me to do some extended family portraits of her family and brothers….I couldn’t resist another session with her little sweetie!

I must say, six adults and one toddler…I was out of my element for certain. No rubber chickens, tickle gloves, or bribery of yummy candy afterward for these guys (well, maybe a little Bonefish Grill Bribery). It was a beautiful night and a gogeous family. What more could you ask for?

Thanks little N for being my “helper.” You definitley got everyone to smile with your “Toy Story” lingo encouragement!

Enjoy the sneak peek!

I said I wouldn’t ever do this.

But I am going to.

Here’s the story.ย  Meet Peyton. He’s a sweet baby boy to these parents from a maternity session I did back in June. Isn’t he a complete doll?ย  He really was a cutie.ย  We had an eventful day today.ย  Mr. Peyton had his first day of major alertness (day 9 mind you), which is a great thing for optimistic Mom and Dad–hoping he sleeps better at night. Not so much a good thing for those sleepy shots I was hoping to get, but all you need is some patience.ย  You always need patience in this biz. Actually, sometimesย a challenging newborn session bursts more creativity…and that is what I think happened to us today.

Anyway, I am getting off topic.ย So, ย I am a HUGE Ravens fan (yes, this is actually on topic).ย  Ask anyone that knows my family. I love nothing more than requests to incorporate the team into local sessions, which we did do also today (they ARE Ravens fans)….but occasionally I get requests for “other” football teams.ย  Of course I do it–but I keep it a big ol’ secret so my friends and family don’t disown me! I would never put it on the BLOG!

Peyton was no exception to getting the request, but he was an exception to blog sharing.ย  He shares a name with the Peyton Manning from the Colts (I know, I know–the Colts–but Peyton’s a good guy, no?). We snapped a few pictures of sweet baby Peyton lying on his little toddler Manning jersey…and I knew it would end up here.ย  How could it not? It’s part of his story, it IS his story, and it’s soooo so sweet–just like him.

So forgive me Baltimore. I did it for Peyton. Sweet, wide awake, lovable Peyton.

Hope he sleeps good for you guys tonight. I want an update!!

And don’t punish us for the jersey–please share some blog love for this cutie! 15 comments here gets this fam a free 5×7 print.

I am starting with my team though.
