Lindsay Parks Photography » welcome

So lots of personal blogging!
I am having some wonderful downtime for the holidays–just placing and packing orders (which I guess really isn’t downtime–plus I have a bunch of newborns this month), but nonetheless–family “photo ops” galore!!

Here is another…..

Yes, you read correctly!  Franklin is at our house to bake with us!!

You all know Franklin, right? The lovable green Turtle who faces fears, and solves common problems in great stories for kids?

Marlie got “Franklin’s Backpack” this week at nursery school, and with it comes a fuzzy Franklin pal, as well as several of his wonderful books to read.  It is a fabulous thing for a three year old to receive, and my daughter was floored to finally have her turn.

So here’s how it works; each student spends the week with him and records the fun events they do together in a journal.  We have to give Franklin back on Tuesday, and I know that is going to be hard! He sleeps in a “bed” in Marlie’s room, hangs out with her and “Puppy,” and has pretty much become a loved member of the family.

Today G-Mom came over, and we baked together!

Franklin had fun watching, helping, and lastly…enjoying cookies!!

Yesterday was a full day for our clan–snow day in the morning, and the parade in the afternoon.
We met up with our favorite cousin “E” and were entertained by mascots, bands, cheerleaders….and Santa himself!!
It was cold, probably our first REALLY cold day here, but everyone toughed it out to see the sights!!

Here’s a snippet of our day!

Put on those mittens, girl, it’s chilly!!

Candy canes were handed out early for those who were patiently waiting….

Marlie didn’t like when the bands came by–they were too loud!

…and she wasn’t a fan of this “stilt lady” either. I believe she was buried in daddy’s shoulder right now!

  • Leslie Cain - Boy, was it cold–but we had a great time! You captured the fun, Lindsay!ReplyCancel

Ahhhh…the first snowfall.
What an exciting time for all youngsters.
Me–I’m not such a fan of being outside in the wet, cold snow. Luckily, my wonderful husband is all about a good romp in the stuff! Of course I stayed out long enough to capture the moment, and then retreated indoors with Jackson to the fireplace and some hot chocolate.

My kids–especially my daughter–were HUGE fans.

It was exciting this year because Jax could actually participate (seeing how last year he was all of 7/8 months old).
Marlie and Daddy must have played out there for a good hour and a half….and that’s even after she spent the whole day yesterday cutting down a Christmas tree with Grandmare and Poppy during the snowfall (it pretty much fell all day here).

This snow wasn’t quite packing snow today–so no snowman. We just broke out the sled. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, but oh well!! Jason used a trashcan lid last year–not so successful. With the new sled, it was a fun time had by all!!

Enjoy!! 😉

Typical Mar/Jax pose–her squeezing and him….well, not sure what to do!

Yes, another boy in town for this wonderful family….there are four! Yes, you read right…count ’em….four!
The oldest is 11 and the youngest, well, he’s about 6 weeks.

Little “E” was much older than my typical newborns, but let me say–he eventually held his own like a champ! It was fun to chat with his parents until he succumed to sweet slumber! 😉

Isn’t he just the perfect little “santa baby” with those cute cheeks?

The black and white with Dad’s hands really was meant to be an outtake–but I just fell in love with it!

This family was a lot of fun and super nice…Mom and Dad were complete dolls, and “Mom Mom” (I am pretty certain that is what the boys called her) even made an appearance. She was the gift giver of this session!!

The older brothers played nicely (yes, really) down the basement for most of the shoot, but certainly enjoyed sneaking up every so often to see their baby brother in the spotlight. We were even able to scrap the Saturday morning jammies for some dapper duds in order to snap a quick “off the cuff” sibling shot! I’m so glad we did.

Thanks for today! I am so glad everyone was healthy and we finally got to to meet! E is a sweet angel, and so adorable….hope his tummy feels better. Enjoy the sneak. Great meeting all of you!

Monkey toes.
Yes, that was what made little E smile big–saying I had monkey toes. Well, that or stinky feet. Nice huh? 🙂 Any toddler loves a good game of “poke fun at the photographer!

I brought it on myself. But for the record I don’t have monkey toes and my feet most definitely do NOT stink!

But really…this is my daughters BFF and his wonderful family, his mom being one of my dearest friends–and my go to “Mommy” friend (if you stay home all week with your toddlers, then you know a “go to Mommy friend” is pretty much your lifeblood)! We have lots of fun adventures together. I photographed them last year around the holidays (you can see here), and then when sweet baby L made her appearance in March, I photographed her first weeks of life here! I can’t believe that she is almost 9 months old!!! As you’ll see below, Mr. E still gives his baby sis big brother kisses!!

I love these two kiddos like they were my own, so getting these pictures was really special.
Plus, we lucked out yet AGAIN with a gorgeous night!!

Yeah, I know, I said I was finished with outdoor sessions…but this family was my exception, because THEY are exceptional!!

Love you guys!!
