Lindsay Parks Photography » welcome

Well, it’s true! Big sis had pretty much JUST turned one!! I loved that I did the session on St. Patty’s day because they are pretty much Irish Twins. It was adorable to see big sis K admire her new little bundle.

I loved the special touches Mom had put into each of their rooms, especially the mobiles…

This was a sweet session at home full of love, hugs, and kisses!

There is something amazing about walking into a family’s home days after what is probably the most amazing change their life will ever have! I am so excited for the sweet little newborn in the following photos. This guy going to have the most amazing and patient big brother! We (5 year old big bro and I) had such a good time hanging out while his littlest addition needed to eat (and eat and eat and eat), and I am pretty stoked for him that he will always remember the days of welcoming a new member into their family! It doesn’t get much better than that.

Here’s is a little snippet into their session.
Congrats to all!
Enjoy the journey together!!

So, as my “break” from shooting clients is wrapping up, I couldn’t be more excited for this new project to start! This is what is called a “blog circle.” A few photographers and I from around the country all pick a theme, shoot pictures of “our own” using the theme, and then share! I will link to the next photographer on the list and so on (and someone somewhere has linked to ME). The best part–purposeful sessions/photos of my kiddos. Sometimes that gets lost when you start focusing on clients again.

The theme for this month was “discovery.” I had a bunch of ideas, but this one just kind of….happened. I hadn’t intended on doing it, but it works!

Here is MD we have had a ridiculous week in early March of super sunny days and temps of 70-75 degrees. It’s been crazy (albeit wonderful! Because this wonderful gift is coming waaayyyy earlier than anticipated, the kids and I got to “re-discover” our deckbox full of goodies in the back yard. It literally had cobwebs when we opened it up–but we had so much fun! Bubbles, tee-ball, golf….soccer!

The best part (and the first image I picked) was the wearing of flip flops and sandals. My son was even barefoot, as you can see by his discarded shoes and socks! Re-discovering the grass on your toes….priceless!!

Take a peek, and at the end of this post there will be another blog for you to click on and visit!

Enjoy, and now follow the circle by checking out the wonderful Valerie Ackerman Photography and her interpretation of our theme! Thanks for looking!!

Today has me thinking a lot about my dad.
8 years ago today, he passed away suddenly from a heart attack.
It’s always a hard day.
One of the harder days of the year for me.
My kids never knew him, but I do try every day to keep the memory of him alive inside of them….

It’s funny how I was looking through old pictures of my family today and came across these pictures.
Unedited.
Just sitting in a file folder on the computer.

I probably took them a year or so ago right before I had a session.
Marlie and Daddy…just hanging out.

…but I took them!

My husband Jason is an amazing Dad.
I always post about this on Father’s day…

but how about I celebrate him today?
…because I miss my own Dad very much.
…and I am so blessed to have an awesome husband who is an incredible father to MY children.

Hug your dad if you can.
xo
