Lindsay Parks Photography » welcome

That he is. My baby. Baby of mine.
…and for what it’s worth, that is pretty much “our” song.
Well, that and “Heartbreak Warfare” thanks to big sis Mar.

As a mom, it’s super hard to wrap your brain around your small kiddos growing up.
It’s mostly difficult because you are both happy and sad all wrapped up in the same emotion.

Jax is a lover. He’s a cuddler, and right now my husband would say he’s kind of a baby (um, yeah–MY baby).
He does things on his own time, and his most prized possession at this very moment is a white, imitation beanie baby bear with an American flag on his tummy that he calls his “Ravens Bear” (I have no idea).

Like most boys his age, there is a fondness for Toy Story (particularly Buzz). To make his Daddy proud, he loves lacrosse. His newest obsession is wearing tank tops, particularly those of the “mesh” variety–with a nice pair of mesh LAX shorts. If it isn’t warm enough for such attire when leaving the house, his “uniform” goes back on the minute we return. I am thrilled (if you detect sarcasm, it’s just a little…for the most part it’s cute).

Like Mar, he’s shy. He shows this by curling his shoulders in when something is adorable or funny, but he smiles big.
I am honoring him today by sharing some fun snippets of our first real photoshoot together. And, yes, he’s drinking coke, and yes–we paid for that later. I think I will continue to pay for it, as he constantly asks to have his picture taken again so he can “drink that stuff with me.” Oops.

He truly makes my heart leap, and he perfectly completed the dynamic of our little family 3 years ago today.
Happy Birthday sweet, sweet blue eyed boy.
xoxo

“From your head down to your toes.
You’re not much…goodness knows.
But you’re so precious to me.
Sweet as can be.
Baby of Mine….”

Here is another adorable newborn boy I photographed a little while ago. He was just perfect for his session with me. Daddy is a big O’s fan so we did some extra special shots with his gear, and I love how it turned out. 🙂 Another favorite of mine is the black and white of Cooper in his daddy’s hands. Years from now when he is about to board that big yellow school bus for the first time, or thowing up his graduation cap in the air, his parents will be able to look back on the time when he fit into the palms of their hands (and they really will–they ordered a wall print of that pose)!

…and of course who doesn’t love a cute lil sock monkey?

Thanks for a wonderful morning together and congrats!!

Dusting off the ol’ blog here! It’s not that I haven’t had much to share…I have just become such a facebooker! That isn’t fair though, and the pictures look soooo much better and sharper here on my lovely blog. I am going to be better, promise (and if you haven’t logged onto my facebook business page recently, take a peek at what I have been up to by clicking here)!

Sweet Scarlett was a joy to photograph a few weeks ago. Not only was Mommy excited to use all my (MANY) baby newborn girl finds…she had some of her own to share for the session as well. I always love when clients have unique ideas and family gifts/heirlooms to showcase during a session. The quilt behind Scarlett in the glider was made by her grandmother on Mommy’s side. The adorable pink bunny chair was from her grandmother on Daddy’s side. It’s also fun when clients see something done with another one of my newborns before their session and then request it for their own newborn session too–like my favorite combo here, the peacock swaddle blanket and orange vintage flower headband lying on the barnwood floor (sigh–I love it too).

Thanks for letting me capture this time for you guys. She’s as sweet as they come for sure!!

  • Brea A. - oh my heart…what a perfect little gerber baby!!!!!ReplyCancel

  • Linda - I must agree that this darling little girl is beautiful, but then most grandmoms would say this. We are lucky to have so many gorgeous babies in our family, and we know how lucky we are that ALL of them are blessed with lovely features. Scarlett is “right up there” with the rest. Love you, Scarlett, LucyReplyCancel

Sweet Little Lizzy, and that she was. I was so excited to get to her house and see this adorable bunny outfit she was gifted from Mommy’s super, awesome bff. That is truly a newborn photographers dream. Nope, you can’t get any cuter than that. Love it.

I was also thrilled to be able to use some of my new swaddle blankets with some fun vinatge headbands. Lizzy definitely rocked both very well.

Newborn shoots are the best. I got to hang out with two wonderful ladies (yes, the gifter of the wonderful bunny suit had to be there to see it in action of course), 🙂 and photograph a darling, beautiful baby girl. Sounds like a perfect day to me!

Thanks so much for being so very sweet! CONGRATULATIONS!!

Looking to get your jewelry on? Well, we’ve got the cure for you and your mini fashionista too!
Stella and Dot Stylist (and friend) Krista Demcher and I are hosting a super fun event next weekend. It is a Mommy and Me Stella and Dot Trunk Show and Photo Op. How does it work? Well, come, browse, buy something, and you are gifted a quick mini shoot with me (Lindsay) that yields a couple of proofs and a free 5×7 of one of the images just for your purchase! Can anyone say “awesome Mother’s Day gift?” We are even encouraging Moms to get in some of the photos since we all know you are usally the one behind the camera!

Krista and I took our favorite girls out for a super fun fasion shoot so you all could see some of the adorable spring stylings from the Stella and Dot little girl’s line. I bet the Easter bunny could bring some of this jewelry for a sweet little gal’s basket, don’t you? 😉 The best part, Krista will have tons of samples for the darling diva in your life to wear for the shoot! Oh, and have we mentioned, if you are the mama of a boy, come and shop for yourself, then get your dapper dude in a photo (promise, no jewels will be forced)?

Interested? Check out the event on facebook and RSVP in order to come. That part is required so Krista and I know how many cupcakes and cuties we will have! Hope to see you there!!

And now…the cutest girls ever (wearing the BEST jewery around)!!

**and PS…most of those adorable dresses (purple dot, orange dresses, and grey ruffle dress) are from the equally stylish and adorable TEA collection carried at our favorite children’s boutique, Tiny Toes!**
